Use/Relationship:
To request engineering assistance required to resolve structural,
component, or system deficiencies; or technical
assistance pertaining to the installation,
operation and maintenance of equipment.
a. This Data Item Description (DID) contains the format, content, and intended use information
for the data deliverable resulting from the work task described in the solicitation.
b.
This DID is applicable to Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contracts wherein the
contractor is responsible for the O&M of Communications-Electronics systems.
c. This DID supersedes DI-TCSP-80235A.
Requirements:
1. Reference documents. None.
2. Format. The request shall be in a contractor prepared message format.
3. Content. The request shall identify and contain the following data:
a. Subject: “Request for Engineering or Technical Assistance.” Include both the
equipment and its location.
b. Para 1. Name of maintaining Command requesting support.
c. Para 2. Identify the equipment by name, designated type number,
Number (NSN), Serial Number (SN), or manufacturer’s name and part number (if not type
numbered).
d. Para 3. Name of Base and location (state/country) where equipment is located.
e. Para 4. Nature of the problem.
f. Para 5. Actions taken by the maintaining activity and results.
g. Para 6. Actual or estimate of assistance required.
h. Para 7. Date assistance is required.
i. Para 8. Statement that the “R
equirement exceeds the capability of the maintaining
Command.”
