Macrograph Standards for Steel Bars, Billets, and Blooms
for Ammunition Components
MIL–STD– 1459 (AR), dated 01 May 1973, and Revision A, dated 04 September 1973,
are hereby canceled. Future acquisitions which require this standard should refer to
appropriate portions of ASTM E 381 –79, entitled:
“Standard Method of Macroetch
Testing, Inspection, and Rating Steel Products, Comprising Bars, Billets, Blooms, and
Forgings”.
(Application for copies of ASTM publications should be addressed to the American
Society for Testing and Materials, 1916 Race Street, Philadelphia PA 191 03)
