SHIPBOARD GUIDED MISSILE LAUNCHING SYSTEM
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS, MINIMUM
To all holders of MIL-STD-1658(OS):
1. Make the following pen and ink changes to MIL-S-1658(OS):
a. Page ii, paragraph 2, line 3: Change “502” to “524”.
b. Page 2, Other Publications:
Change “OR-11” and its title to
“MIL-STD-648-Design Criteria for specialized Shipping Containers”.
Page 2, paragraph 3.6:
Delete entirely and renumber paragraphs
“3.7, 3.8, 3.9 and 3.10" to “3.6, 3.7, 3.8 and 3.9" respectively.
d. Page 4, paragraph 5.2, line 2:
Change “OR-11, Appendix A.”
to “MIL-STD-648.”
e. Page 4, paragraph 5.8, line 1: Delete “wet”.
f.
Page 9, paragraph 5.42.1, line 5: Change "Ordnance" t

"Sea”.
g. DD Form 1426, back:
Change “(502)” to "(524)”.

Retain this notice and insert before table of contents.
3. Holders of MIL-STD-1658(OS) will verify that pages have been changed
as indicated above. This notice will be retained as a checklist. This
issue is a separate publication, as Notices are not cumulative. Each
Notice is to be retained by stocking points until the standard is completely
revised or cancelled.
