This instruction implements and extends guidance of AFMAN 21-202, Missile Maintenance
Management. This instruction describes procedures for use in conjunction with the operations of
Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) transporter-erectors and payload transporters in the
missile complex. It applies to Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) Regular Air Force,
Air Education and Training Command (AETC) ICBM Field Training Detachment (FTD)
operations at an AFGSC ICBM installation and the AETC ICBM Apprentice Course at XXX AFB.
This publication does not apply to Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve, or Civil Air Patrol units.
Refer recommended changes and questions about this publication to the Office of Primary
Responsibility (OPR) using the AF Form 847, Recommendation for Change of Publication; route
AF Forms 847 from the field through the appropriate functional manager’s chain of command.
The authorities to waive wing and unit level requirements in this publication are identified with a
tier number (“T-0, T-1, T-2, T-3”) following the compliance statement. See Department of the
Air Force Instruction (DAFI) 33-360, Publications and Forms Management, for a description of
the authorities associated with the Tier numbers. Submit requests for waivers through the chain
of command to the appropriate Tier waiver approval authority, utilizing guidance identified in
DAFI 33-360. Any supplements to this publication or stand-alone instructions that implement or
augment the provisions of this instruction must be routed to the OPR of this publication for
