This mission directive implements Air Force Policy Directive (AFPD) 38-1, Manpower and
Organization This publication applies to Standoff Munitions Application Center (SMAC) and
subordinate units as well as any Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) and Air National Guard
(ANG) associated units. Its purpose is to define the mission, command structure, and
responsibilities of SMAC. This publication may not be supplemented. Refer recommended
changes and questions about this publication to the office of primary responsibility using
Department of the Air Force (DAF) Form 847, Recommendation for Change of Publication; route
DAF 847 from field units through the appropriate functional chain of command. Ensure all records
generated as a result of processes prescribed in this publication adhere to Air Force Instruction
(AFI) 33-322, Records Management and Information Governance Program, and are disposed of
in accordance with the Air Force Records Disposition Schedule, which is located in the Air Force
Records Information Management System.
1. Mission. Support the warfighter and enable full-spectrum dominance through integrated
planning of lethal and non-lethal joint and multinational standoff fires.
2. Command. SMAC is a Center assigned to the Joint Global Strike Operations Center (J-
GSOC). Commander, SMAC commands the assigned and attached forces across the distributed
SMAC enterprise.
