SUBJECT: Air Force Materiel Command Guidance Memorandum to AFI23-101_AFMCSUP,
Materiel Management Policy.
By Order of the Commander, Air Force Materiel Command, this Guidance Memorandum
immediately changes DAFI 23-101_AFMCSUP, Materiel Management Policy. Compliance with
this Memorandum is mandatory. To the extent its directions are inconsistent with other AFMC
publications, the information herein prevails, IAW DAFI 90-160, Publications and Forms
Management, and DAFMAN 90-161, Publishing Processes and Procedures. Ensure all records
created as a result of processes prescribed in this publication are maintained IAW AFI 33-322,
Records Management and Information Governance Program, and disposed of IAW the Air Force
Records Disposition Schedule located in the Air Force Records Information Management System.
This memorandum includes significant changes and must be reviewed in its entirety.
Changes update responsible offices involved in various programs. Changes also add guidance on
property custodians, makes modifications to the Precious Metals Recovery Program with the Air
Logistics Complexes, adds guidance regarding Force Activity Designators, and adds additional
guidance regarding A & B Project Codes.
In those instances where this Memorandum delegates a program/responsibility to a lower-
level organization, that delegation includes the Pertinent Oversight Authority responsibilities as
outlined in AFI 90-201, The Air Force Inspection System, and corresponding AFMC Supplement.
This Memorandum becomes void after one year has elapsed from the date of this
Memorandum, or upon incorporation by interim change to, or rewrite of DAFI23-101_AFMCSUP,
whichever is earlier.
