This publication implements AF Policy Directive (AFPD) 60-1, Air Force Standardization
Program. This instruction establishes the management structure and responsibilities for
conducting the Air Force portion of the Defense Standardization Program defined by Department
of Defense Manual (DoDM) 4120.24, Defense Standardization Program (DSP) Procedures. It
applies to all Air Force organizations, including the Air National Guard (ANG), Air Force Reserve
(AFR), civilians, and contractors. Refer recommended changes and questions about this
publication to the Office of Primary Responsibility using the AF Form 847, Recommendation for
Change of Publication; route AF Form 847 from the field through the appropriate functional chain
of command. Ensure all records created as a result of processes prescribed in this publication are
maintained in accordance with Air Force Manual 33-363, Management of Records, and disposed
