This manual implements AFPD 36-26, Total Force Development and Management and further
aligns with AFI 36-2670, Total Force Development; and AFH 36-2235V9, Information for
Designers of Instructional Systems-Application to Technical Training. This manual presents
Instructional System Design (ISD) methodology and activities as they apply to functional
courseware development and management in Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC). This
instruction applies to AFMC Regular Air Force (RegAF).This supplement does not apply to Air
National Guard (ANG), Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC), and United States Space Force
(USSF). This manual only applies to military, civilian, and contractor personnel responsible for
developing and managing AFMC functional depot maintenance training courseware. This
publication may be supplemented at any level, but all supplements must be routed to the OPR of
this publication for coordination prior to certification and approval. Ensure that all records created
as a result of processes prescribed in this publication are maintained in accordance with Air Force
Instruction (AFI) 33-322, Records Management and Information Governance Program, and
disposed of in accordance with Air Force Records Disposition Schedule (RDS) located in the Air
Force Records Information Management System (AFRIMS). Refer recommended changes and
questions about this publication to the Office of Primary Responsibility (OPR) using AF Form
847, Recommendation for Change of Publication; route AF Form 847 from the field through the
appropriate functional chain of command. Submit requests for waivers through the chain of
