This instruction implements AFMAN36-2806, Awards And Memorialization Program. This
instruction states the purpose of each Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) Science, Engineering
and Technical Management (SE&TM) award, defines the eligibility, and prescribes nomination,
selection, and presentation process. This publication applies to all AFMC Regular Air Force. This
publication does not apply to United States Space Force, Air Force Reserve, or Air National Guard
units. Ensure that all records generated as a result of processes prescribed in this publication adhere
to Air Force Instruction (AFI) 33-322, Records Management and Information Governance
Program, and are disposed of in accordance with the Air Force Records Disposition Schedule
which is located in the Air Force Records Information Management System. Refer recommended
changes and questions about this publication to the Office of Primary Responsibility (OPR) using
the AF Form 847, Recommendation for Change of Publication. Submit requests for waivers
through the chain of command to the appropriate Tier waiver approval authority, or alternately, to
the Publication OPR for non-tiered compliance items, utilizing guidance identified in Department
of the Air Force Manual (DAFMAN) 90-161, Publishing Processes and Procedures. This
publication may be supplemented at any level, but all supplements must be routed to the OPR of
this publication for coordination prior to certification and approval. Compliance with the
attachments in this publication is mandatory.
