This publication implements Air Force Policy Directive (AFPD) 36-26, Total Force Development
and Management. It provides guidance and procedures on retention program policies and
procedures throughout the Air National Guard. This publication may be supplemented at any level,
but all supplements must be routed to the Office of Primary Responsibility listed above for
coordination prior to certification and approval. To the extent its directions are inconsistent with
other Air Force publications, the information herein prevails, in accordance with Air Force
Instruction (AFI) 33-360, Publications and Forms Management. Refer recommended changes and
questions about his publication to the Office of Primary Responsibility listed above using the Air
Force Form 847, Recommendation for Change of Publication, route AF Form 847 from the field
through the appropriate chain of command. Ensure that all records created as a result of processes
prescribed in this publication are maintained in accordance with Air Force Manual (AFMAN) 33-
363, Management of Records, and disposed of in accordance with Air Force Records Information
Management System (AFRIMS) Records Disposition Schedule (RDS.) This publication requires
