This instruction establishes policies and procedures for Ceremonial Resource Support in
accordance with (IAW) AFI 34-1201, Protocol. This instruction standardizes Air Force District
of Washington (AFDW) precedence, guidance, and resource utilization within the National Capital
Region (NCR). Refer recommended changes and questions about this publication to the office of
primary responsibility (OPR) using the AF IMT 847, Recommendation for Change of Publication;
route AF IMT 847s from the field through the appropriate functional chain of command. This
publication does not apply to the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) and/or their units, nor
Senior Executive Service members. Support to the Air National Guard (ANG) is limited and
specified in this publication. This instruction is applicable to assigned and attached units requiring
ceremonial resource support from AFDW. Ensure all records created as a result of processes
prescribed in this publication are maintained in accordance with AFMAN 33-363, Management of
Records, and disposed of in accordance with the Air Force Records Disposition Schedule (RDS)
located at https://www.my.af.mil/afrims/afrims/afrims/rims.cfm.
