CIO/G-6 VISIONMISSION
CIO/G-6 is comprised of the Enterprise
Information Technology IM/IT service
delivery team (G-6) and the HQ Governance/
Policy Ofce (CIO) for the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers (USACE). We support the mission
requirements of our USACE customers by
delivering mission-focused IM/IT services
using an enterprise service delivery model.
• We are investing in the technical
competencies and capability of our work force
through professional certications.
• We are preparing agile leaders through
developmental assignments and training
programs.
• We are recruiting IT Professionals and
military veterans, particularly those with
diverse backgrounds.
The 650+ federal employees of the Ofce
of the CIO/G-6 (CIO/G-6) are an integral
element of USACE – a $27 billion (FY17)
Major Army Command consisting of 35,000
dedicated civilians and soldiers delivering
engineering, design, and construction
management services to customers in more
than 110 countries. We serve the American
people, striving to provide the most effective
engineering and environmental science
solutions to the nation’s complex problems
affecting national security, the economy, and
the environment in which we live. USACE is
a key player in all aspects of coastal/ water
resources engineering, construction, ood
control, navigation, disaster response, and
military construction activities. Included

CIO/G-6 designs, engineers, and operates two
major Processing Capabilities along with a
world- wide data network and provides direct,
on-site command and control, coordination,
planning, and operations and maintenance
support for routine and emergency
information technology resources and services
at over 1,500 locations in the United States,
including Alaska and Hawaii. Additionally, our
scope of operations encompass wide-ranging
elds such as cyber security, Information
Management/Information Technology (IM/
IT) acquisition and contract management,
database and website administration, records
management, printing and publications,
visual information services, resource
management and administration.
