Real Estate
FEDERAL LEGISLATIVE JURISDICTION AND ANNEXATION
1. Purpose.
a. This Regulation describes the types of legislative jurisdiction and general procedures and
responsibilities relates to the acquisition and retrocession of federal legislative jurisdiction over
land areas under the control of the Department of the Army (DA).
b. This Regulation also contains procedures for situations where a municipality or another
political subdivision of a state seeks to expand its boundaries to include real estate under the
control of the DA.
2. Applicability. This Regulation applies to all Divisions and Districts having a real estate
mission and real estate responsibilities.
3. Distribution Statement. This regulation is approved for public release; distribution is
unlimited.
