Iran is fighting a war by proxy with Israel, according to a top military adviser who is
familiar with the situation.
Kobi Michael, a senior researcher at the Tel Aviv-based Institute for National
Security Studies (INSS), spoke to CNN regarding the ongoing developments with
Hamas - the terrorist group whose surprise attack this weekend triggered new Israeli-
Palestine conflict.
Hamas attacked early Saturday morning, launching thousands of rockets into Israel at
around 6.30am while terrorists poured into the country.
At least 900 Israelis were killed in the violence while more than 100 are thought to have
been taken hostage.
According to Michael, Iran — which has been funding Hamas — intends to "exhaust"
Israel's resources until it ceases to exist.

"Here is the common denominator between the Iran strategy and the Hamas strategy.
Therefore Iran is an asset for Hamas and Hamas is an asset for Iran," he said.
