Overview
The southern sector: Israeli Air Force airstrikes continued; about 250 Hamas terrorist
targets in the Gaza Strip were attacked. In preparation for the next stages of combat, the IDF
forces carried out targeted activity in the north of the Gaza Strip. After the mission, the troops
left the area. Rocket fire attacks on Israel continue. Houses in the center of the country were
damaged and six people were injured. The deputy chairman of the Hamas political bureau
claimed Hamas was ready for the IDF's ground entry into the Gaza Strip and would inflict “a
bitter defeat” on Israel.
So far, more than 1,400 civilian and soldier deaths have been reported; 224 civilian and
soldier abductees are still being held by the Palestinian terrorist organizations in the
Gaza Strip.
The Gaza Strip: According to reports from the Gaza Strip, the humanitarian situation
continues to deteriorate. Trucks continue to enter through the Rafah Crossing bringing
humanitarian aid, called by UNRWA "a drop in the ocean."
: In Lebanon, sporadic shooting at IDF posts and Israeli cities, towns
and villages continues. The decrease in attacks may be the result of the IDF's intensive
activity to eliminate rocket-launching squads. The IDF also continued attacking Hezbollah
targets in Lebanese territory. Voices have been heard in Lebanon, mainly from Christians, to
stop Hezbollah's attacks, which harm the country.
