SECTION A: GENERAL
1. PURPOSE. This Air Force Job Qualification Standard (AFJQS) offers a framework of discrete tasks that
prepare Airmen to serve in a joint environment. It focuses on “true joint organizations” that Airmen can b
e
assi
gned to, such as Joint Task Forces, Combatant Command Headquarters, the Joint Staff, and other joint,
interagency, intergovernmental, or multinational organizations. Due to the unique nature of the joint
environment, there are inherent differences across assignments, resulting in unique command-specifi
c
requirements. This document does not focus on the granular details of each joint opportunity but takes a
holistic joint perspective mapped across thirteen themes. This stand-alone product does not require a
n
a
ccompanying Master Training Plan (MTP) and/or Individual Training Plan (ITP). Completion of this
AFJQS is not a requirement for Airmen to receive or complete a joint assignment.
2. TA
SK QUALIFICATION. This AFJQS is broken out into four tier groups: Common Core,
Noncommissioned Officer (NCO), Senior Noncommissioned Officer (SNCO), and Senior Enlisted Leader
(SEL). All personnel will be qualified to the GO/NO GO standard for all applicable tasks corresponding to their
tier group listed in this AFJQS. GO means the individual can perform the task without assistance utilizing
appropriate instructions or other procedural guidance. If required training listed in SECTION B of this AFJQS
is provided through on-the-job training (OJT), distance learning (DL), or web-based courses,
a
supervisor/trainer from that respective functional area will complete the trainer's block to document training
completion. Training should be completed within a twelve-month period.
