SUBJECT: Department of the Air Force Guidance Memorandum to DAFMAN 11-401, Aviation
Management
By Order of the Secretary of the Air Force, this Department of the Air Force Guidance
Memorandum (DAFGM) immediately implements changes to Department of the Air Force
Manual (DAFMAN) 11-401, Aviation Management. Compliance with this memorandum is
mandatory. To the extent its directions are inconsistent with other Department of the Air Force
publications, the information herein prevails in accordance with DAFMAN 90-161, Publishing
Processes and Procedures.
This Guidance Memorandum reissues the content from the 1 June 2023 version at
Attachment 2 and adds additional guidance changes at Attachment 1. The guidance changes at
Attachment 1 are directed by the Chief of Staff of the Air Force and provides additional direction
on general officer flying positions.
This memorandum becomes void after one-year has elapsed from the date of this
memorandum, or upon publication of an Interim Change or rewrite of DAFMAN 11-401,
whichever is earlier.
