DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE INTERFACE STANDARD
U.S. MESSAGE TEXT FORMAT (USMTF) DESCRIPTION (U)
MIL-STD-6040B is UNCLASSIFIED and contains the rules to provide a standardized set
of USMTF messages and protocol for DoD use. The messages using XML-MTF
schemas are versioned controlled and updated as required and are valid for use in
acquisition.
As authorized by DISA-GE332 the DoD controlling office for this MIL-STD, the
distribution restriction of this military standard remains at “C” (restricted to the federal
government and its contractors). All allied releases of this standard continue to require
a foreign disclosure authorization.
