PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATION
HYDRAULIC FLUID, PETROLEUM, INHIBITED
This specification is approved for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope
. This specification covers petroleum base hydraulic fluids for use in hydraulic systems and in other
applications where a high grade hydraulic fluid having anti-corrosion and anti-oxidation properties are required.
This hydraulic fluid is not an extreme pressure (EP) or anti-wear (AW) fluid. This hydraulic fluid should not be
used in systems where a fire-resistant fluid is required.
1.2 Classification
. The hydraulic fluids covered by this specification are of the following ISO viscosity grades,
as specified (see
6.2):
