WRITTEN AGREEMENT – ARMY RESERVE SOLDIERS
ASSIGNED TO MOBILIZING UNITS
DATA REQUIRED BY THE PRIVACY ACT OF 1974
AUTHORITY: Section 308D, title 37, USC
PRINCIPAL PURPOSE: To explain obligation and participation requirements for first-term Army Reserve
Troop Program Unit (TPU) Soldiers assigned to Army Reserve units scheduled for mobilization on or after
1 Aug 09.
ROUTINE USES: Confirmation of obligation and participation requirements, and occasionally as a basis
for reassignment and separation if requirements are not met.
DISCLOSURE: Disclosure of SSN is voluntary; however, if not provided, you will not be eligible for any
related incentives (e.g. Selected Reserve (SELRES) Designated Unit Stabilization Pay (DUSP)).
SECTION I - APPLICABILITY
This written agreement will be completed by first-term Soldiers who will reach their contractual expiration
term of service (ETS) during mobilization plus 90 days; and who agree to continue serving in a TPU
beyond their contractual obligation into their Statutory Military Service Obligation.
SECTION II - INSTRUCTIONS
The service representative is responsible for reading and explaining the requirements outlined in this
written agreement. After the agreement is executed, it will be stapled to an enlisted Soldier's most recent
DA Form 3540 (Certificate and Acknowledgment of the US Army Reserve Service Requirements and
Methods of Fulfillment) or inserted into an officer's military personnel file, as appropriate. In addition, a
copy of the agreement will be provided to the Soldier.
SECTION III - ACKNOWLEDGMENT

obligations as a result of this agreement.
1. I will remain assigned to and deploy with the mobilizing unit to which I am currently assigned until the
unit redeploys and demobilizes plus 90 days.
