PHYSICAL SECURITY
1. SCOPE: This commander’s policy letter establishes the policy for physical security.
This commander’s policy letter will be reviewed quarterly
2. APPLICABILITY: This commander’s policy letter applies to all elements assigned or
attached to Task Force Empire Shield.
3. REFERENCES:
a. State of NY Domestic Emergency Standard Operating Procedures - New York
dated 4 July 2003.
b. AR 190-11 Physical Security of Arms, Ammunition and Explosives dated 12
February 1998
c. AR 190-13 Army Physical Security Program dated 30 September 1993
d. AR 190-51 Security of Army Property (sensitive and nonsensitive) dated 30
September 1993.
e. FM 19-30 Physical Security dated 8 January 2001.
4. DEFINITIONS: There are no unique terms used in this policy letter.
5. PURPOSE: To standardize the physical security procedures for all elements
assigned or attached to Task Force Empire Shield.
6. RESPONSIBILITIES:
a. TFES Commander. TFES Commander will establish and publish physical security
policies and procedures.
b. Team OICs. Team OICs will understand and implement all policies and
procedures concerning physical security.
(1) Responsible for control and safeguarding of all supplies and equipment within
this command.
(2) Appoint a physical security officer in writing to supervise the physical security
program of the team.
