Purpose: In accordance with the authority in DoD Directive 5124.02, this issuance establishes policy,
assigns responsibilities, and provides procedures for the administration of the VSP Program along with
payment of VSP and benefits to Service members as authorized by Section 1175a of Title 10, United
States Code (U.S.C.).
