Purpose: In accordance with the authority in DoD Directive (DoDD) 5124.02, this instruction
establishes policy, assigns responsibilities, and provides procedures for the reimbursement of
qualifying adoption expenses incurred by members of the Military Services pursuant to Section
1052 of Title 10, United States Code (U.S.C.) and DoD 7000.14-R.
