This instruction implements Air Force Policy Directive (AFPD) 36-28, Awards and Decorations
Programs and Air Force Instruction (AFI) 36-2805, Special Trophies and Awards Programs. It
establishes criteria and procedures for submitting nominations for awards administered or
overseen by Headquarters Air Mobility Command, Directorate of Operations (AMC/A3/10).
This publication applies to Air National Guard (ANG) and Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC)
units. Refer recommended changes and questions about this publication to the Office of Primary
Responsibility (OPR) using the AF Form 847, Recommendation for Change of Publication; route
AF Form 847s from the field through the appropriate functional’s chain of command. The
authorities to waive wing/organization level requirements in this publication are identified with a
Tier (“T-0, T-1, T-2, T-3”) number following the compliance statement. See AFI 33-360,
Publications and Forms Management, for a description of the authorities associated with the Tier
numbers. Submit requests for waivers through the chain of command to the appropriate Tier
waiver approval authority, or alternately, to this publications’ OPR for non-tiered compliance
items. Ensure that all records created as a result of processes prescribed in this publication are
maintained IAW Air Force Manual (AFMAN) 33-363, Management of Records and disposed
IAW Air Force Records Information Management System (AFRIMS) Records Disposition
Schedule (RDS). This instruction requires collecting and maintaining information protected by
the Privacy Act of 1974, authorized by 10 U.S.C., Chapter 857, Decorations and Awards, and
Executive Order 9397. System of records notice F036 AF PC V, Awards and Decorations,
applies. See Attachment 1 for a listing of references and supporting information. This
publication may not be supplemented or further implemented.
