PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATION
SWITCHES, PUSH BUTTON, ILLUMINATED,
GENERAL SPECIFICATION FOR
This specification is approved for use by all Departments
and Agencies of the Department of Defense.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope
. This specification covers the general requirements for manually operated illuminated push button
switches, switch assemblies (see 6.4.1
), and associated modular subassemblies. As used in this specification, the
term "switches" should include the associated modular subassemblies, including switches, indicator lights, actuators,
lenses, color filters, panel seals, barriers, and so forth.
1.2 Classification

1.2.1 Enclosure requirement
. The enclosure requirement is identified by a single digit in accordance with table I.
