Purpose: In accordance with the authority in DoD Directive 5124.02, this issuance:
• Establishes DoD policy, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures and requirements for
administering and executing the NSEP service agreement in accordance with Sections 1901-1912 of
Chapter 37 of Title 50, United States Code (U.S.C.).
• Modifies requirements related to the NSEP service agreement.
• Assigns oversight of NSEP to the Defense Language and National Security Education Office.
