Purpose: In accordance with the authority in DoD Directives (DoDD) 5142.02 and 5160.41E, this
issuance:
• Establishes policies, assigns responsibilities, and provides procedures for managing the Defense
LREC Program.
• Adds regional expertise and culture as mission critical competencies of the Defense LREC Program.
• Establishes initial culture learning guidelines.
