1. Purpose. To implement policy changes recommended by the
Naval Inspector General (NAVINSGEN) to Office of the Chief of
Naval Operations Special Assistant for Safety Matters (OPNAV
(N09F)) and to define and outline the conduct and reporting of
the self-assessment process for safety and occupational health
(SOH) programs.
2. Cancellation. OPNAVINST 5100.8G.
3. Action
a. Remove the cover letter, the table of contents, chapters
1, 2, 5, 6, 9, and pages 16-1 through 16-4 of chapter 16 of the
basic instruction and replace them with enclosures (1) through
(8), respectively.
b. Remove appendix 2-B (Process Review and Measurement
System (PR&MS) checklist) from chapter 2 of the basic
instruction. It is currently available at:
