SUBJECT: Air Force Guidance Memorandum to AFMAN 11-402, Aviation Resource Management
1. By Order of the Secretary of the Air Force, this Guidance Memorandum immediately updates the
April 2019 Guidance Memorandum to Air Force Manual 11-402, Aviation and Parachutist Service.
Compliance with this memorandum is mandatory. To the extent its directions are inconsistent with
other Air Force publications, the information herein prevails in accordance with Air Force Instruction
33-360, Publications and Forms Management.
2. The Guidance Memorandum provides updated guidance to address administrative errors and
update tier waiver approval authority for medical disqualification requirements. Additionally, the
memorandum provides clarification and guidance on the management of rated, career enlisted aviator,
and non-rated officers and enlisted aircrew members.
3. This memorandum becomes void after one-year has elapsed from the date of this memorandum,
or upon publication of an interim change or rewrite of Air Force Manual 11-402, whichever is earlier.
