Do not use missiles or rockets that have been dropped more than 2 feet.
Do not use missiles or rockets with punctured or dented casings.
Do not reuse or refire misfired missiles or rockets. Follow "Immediate Action
Procedures" in the weapon system's TM.
Store missiles and rockets with their noses pointing towards a berm or a
barricade.
Secure missile and rocket containers against movement, even in tactical
vehicles, including pickups.
Do not let anyone ride with the loaded missiles or rockets, for example, in the
cargo bed of a truck.
DEMOLITION MATERIALS AND BULK EXPLOSIVES
Handle demolition materials and bulk explosives carefully, especially those
packed in cardboard cartons.
Do not let demolition materials or bulk explosives get in your mouth; do not
inhale their fumes.
Keep lighters, matches and other flame-producers away from demolition
materials and bulk explosives.
If you see smoke or fire coming from a closed magazine, sound the alarm, tell
your supervisor, and get out of the immediate area.
Do not try to put out burning ammunition by yourself or without professional
advice and/or assistance.
Try to control the spread of a fire in grass or other combustible material
surrounding a magazine.
Let fumes dissipate after demolition materials or bulk explosives are used in
closed areas or underground.
Do not approach a misfire for at least 30 minutes.
Do not let anyone ride with the loaded demolition materials or bulk explosives,
for example, in the bed of a truck.

AMMUNITION, MISSILE,
DEMOLITIONS, & EXPLOSIVES SAFETY
AMMUNITION
Use
Do not handle any used, unexploded ordnance (duds) on ranges or impact
areas anytime. Examples are: thrown hand grenades, artillery projectiles, and
fired mortar rounds that did not go off.
Use only ammunition that has been issued from an ammunition storage area.
Never use ammunition that is just lying around.
Do not break the ammunition container's moisture-resistant seal until you need
to use the ammunition.
Do not open ammunition boxes until you need to use them.
If corrosion or damage affects chambering or performance, do not use the
ammunition.
Do not use damp powder charges or badly damaged cartridges (bent tips or
dented cases) or cartridges with loose projectiles.
Handle all ammunition carefully because the explosives inside are sensitive.
It a cartridge in the chamber of a hot weapon will not be fired immediately,
remove it. Use the misfire procedures of the weapon system if there is a misfire.
Wipe off wet or dirty cartridges at once.
If you think ammunition is not serviceable, have it inspected.
Protect all ammunition from rough handling, hard knocks, and sharp blows.
